Just as I managed to get my mates laptop screen issue sorted in my other thread, another mate has given me his Toshiba A300 laptop to have a look at. It was working fine last night and he shut it down as normal. Now this morning when he went to try starting it up, it won't. What it is doing is showing the AC charger unit is plugged in ( white plug symbol on laptop front ) and that the battery was initially charging ( orange battery symbol on laptop front ) and has now charged ( white symbol on laptop front ).
However, when you press the on/off switch the green "On" symbol flashes very briefly and then goes out along with the other AC power and battery lights mentioned above. It then refuses to show any lights again until you have :-
1. Removed the battery and AC power cable
2. Held down the on/off switch for 30 seconds
Then upon replacing the battery and plugging the power cable back in, the white power and charged symbols appear again. Pressing the on/off switch results in the same though - brief flash of green "On" switch and then all lights go out. I've tried it with the battery out and just the AC lead in and it does the same.
Any tips on what to try now folks?. Ta.
