laptop socket 754, which CPU upgrade

i have a sempron 3000+ in my laptop but would like to upgrade the CPU its a socket 754 what are my options?

Well the fastest laptop cpu for 754 is the Athlon 64 4000+ @2.6ghz but they are as rare as rocking horse doo doo. You should easily be able to pick up at least a mobile 3400+ (2.2ghz, 1024kb L2 or 2.4ghz, 512kb L2 depending on core). It all depends on whether your lappy can handle it really. I've not had a lot of dealings with laptops but i presume it is the same as a desktop and dependent on the mobo and cooling.

I honestly don't know. The voltages would be different as would the power needed to run it.
