Laptop Spec advise appreciated...
Hello all, needing some advise from the fine people at OCuK
Need a new system for my wife and considering a Laptop.
Desktop is current an old AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+, 2GB of ram and an ATI x1950 graphics card. For its age its been really speedy but it goes through phases where, for no apparently reason, it loses signal to the monitor.
Getting fed up with poking around inside / outside / everywhere and getting nowhere only for it to magically start working again so thinking of ditching it for a laptop for the first time.
So basically I don't mind spending a bit of money but would prefer not to as I only need to find one that does the following - surfing the internet, using skype, playing Lord of the Rings Online with no problems.
Obviously the first two can be done with any old lappy but, even though my wife doesn't care about cranking the graphics settings to max, she will kill me if the game goes jerky on medium settings.
And thus is the crux of the request - please can you help recommend a sensibly priced laptop so that my wife can enjoy playing in Middle-Earth from the comfort of her armchair.
P.s. like the looks of the i3s and i5s, not really bothered whether 15" or 17" screen, don't need blu-ray or any of that gubbins. Option to upgrade to Windows7 Proffessional would be essential for remote desktoping through works VPN.
THANKS!!!
