Laptop Style Gaming Keyboard

I want to get a new keyboard, im typing on an old dell l100 thing with chunky rubber dome keys.

I dont like big keys (I've tried a blackwiddow too, its not just rubber dome) so I've decided to try and find a laptop style keyboard, maybe with backlights for around £50-80.

I've found a choice of two but if anyone knows any others please feel free to post them (UK layout)

The two i've found i have heard some problems with them both so:

Razer Lycosa - looks like a nice keyboard, I love the idea of backlighting. Keys look like the laptop style I want, gaming matrix. However, have heard back things about buttons getting stuck and having to unplug / replug which will not work for me in MOBA games where every movement counts. Anyone know if these issues have been solved as of 2012?

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard - look very nice, very thin. Scissor switch keys which are like laptops so Im sure the keys are what I want. Backlighting is a plus,
however, again ive read reviews and heard problems with the Matrix's in the keyboard, they are not gaming optimized or fast typing optimized (I type 90wpm)
It seems to have problems with W+Shift+Space which doesnt bother me as I dont play FPS on PC but apparently at fast typing it also has problems with things like n't where it will not register the t and leave things like can' instead of can't.
i've also heard the same about 'ine'. does anyone know if these issues have been fixed?

If anyone knows which I should gofor or any other keyboards that fit my criteria, i'm listening.

One last thing, I dont like gimmicky buttons like extra ones 'macro' keys or 'G' keys (I didnt like them on the blackwidow) I misplace my hand thinking im on WASD when im on like QCapsAS because of the extra buttons, so thats a no no.

thanks for reading.

I see, do you know anything abou the key blocking on the logitech illuminated?

Not heard of that issue. I have the K750 and can get 6KRO with no problems and never have issues with sticking keys. The best thing with Logitech (and something most irate reviewers never seem to cover) is that Logitech Customer Service is so stupidly good that if your keyboard does have an issue they will replace it super fast and often don't even get you to send the old one in.

Thin keyboards and laptop-style keys are not particularly suited to fast typing or gaming in my opinion. They're also horrid to type on based on my experience too. Why do you want to change keyboard exactly? Was there something these other models have that you want? What's wrong with standard size keys exactly?

Maybe there's a better compromise to be found for you.

Hi, I'm not a hardcore gamer. I do play games on my current keyboard which is standard, nothing special.

I dont like standard size keys because of the travel distnce, when I type on a scissor switch or low profile keyboard Its like heaven. I jsut need to find the right one :)

Interested in the K800?

Amazing kb it is! not really suitable for gaming as if you stretch your hand quickly, you generally press another key as they're pretty big and soft to touch.

Then again, it may be PEBKAC:p

Mechanical?

I think it sounds like you'd like the feel of a mechanical keyboard, try the steelseries 7G if you have the money. The 6gv2 if you do not. Flawless.

Hmmm, I'm more looking for a wired keyboard, but them keys do look nice.

And @chrashz I've already tried a blackwidow, not my kind of thing, I can see the appeal for mechanical keys though, personally I prefer lowprofile keys :D
