Hi all,

Wonder if anyone could help please?

I've been abroad using my Dell Studio 1555 laptop with Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless N card on wifi networks for the last two weeks without problems (so as far as I know the wireless card still actually works), but I've come home and it either refuses to connect, or connects and keeps dropping out to my home router! (Netgear WNR2000v2)

However my wife's Advent laptop still connects to it fine and always has done, as does my Android phone.

I've tried changing a few settings on my wireless card like "Wireless N Pre Amble" from "green field mode" To "mixed mode" and i've tried changing the channel and speed (300Mbit/s to 54Mbit/s) on the router all to no avail, although my wife's Vista Advent laptop doesn't miss a beat.

Why does my laptop suddenly dislike my router?!

I get this a lot with my wifes laptop samsung R60 on vista,a quick fix i found is to change the wifi channel on the router and try to reconnect , this sometimes works but not always

remove all the wireless networks from wireless adapter properties, by right clicking on the adapter and going to the wireless networks tab. Then click and remove all the networks. Then try again, reenter the passcode. That should do it.

First thing is to remove and re-add the relevant wifi profile. If that doesn't work then check that MAC address filtering hasn't been enabled on the wrouter to block your laptop. Also check the laptop wifi adaptor hasn't been set to think it's in a different country because that might restrict the channels that it can work with. Lastly if you didn't transport the laptop yourself by hand, check that the antennae wires didn't get disconnected by a bump in transit.

finally managed to sort it, by decreasing the speed from up to 300Mbps to up to 54Mbps !??!?! No idea why it is being funny with me on N speeds, it's an N NIC and it's always worked before!?
