Laptop Suggestions Please??

Hi, hoping some of you tech heads can help me out and recommend me a laptop suitable for my needs.

I'm looking to update my TERRIBLY SLOW desktop PC with a laptop that I can carry around with me.

The laptop will mostly be for everyday use. Using it for daily internet browsing, downloading and torrenting.
I'll be watching a few multi-region DVD's.
Plugging in my USB 3.0 external hard drives.

I currently have a VERY SLOW 7 year old eMachines E4264 with: Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Dual Core Processor, NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS, 250GB Hard Drive, 1 GB DDR2 Dual Channel Memory, 15-in-1 Memory Card Reader.

If anyone can provide any feedback, i'd really appreciate, thank you.

I'd recommend Lenovo. They are built really well.

I'd also refrain yourself from commenting your "torrenting" activities

Yes, budget would be useful.

Also if you wanting speed, I'd highly recommend an Intel over an AMD.

Also looked at Lenovo Z510 but was put of by reviews http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00HR6U0KU?pc_redir=1402474321&robot_redir=1

Some people say Dell and Lenovo are good then I keep seeing bad reviews for particular models :/
