Laptop Suggestions ?

Replacing my desktop that I used to use for games, after a decent desktop replacement so that the grunt is there when I occasionally feel the need.

In my hunt around, so far the Fujitsu Siemens Amilo XI 1554 is looking like the top choice in my budget with this kind of spec.
I was just wondering what peoples opinions are of this machine ? I've considered machines from both Dell and Rock but cant justify the extra cost to get a similar specced machine albeit with a 7900gs/gtx. By the time you add that extra 1 gig of ram & storage it adds up to a considerable cost increase from either of those manufacturers.

Anyone have another alternative ? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts

And the price is around £1100 give or take a bit

Hi, just to let you know about my laptop. A few months ago i bought the Fujitsu Siemens Amillo Xi 1546 for £860 (inc vat + del) The spec is a bit lower, has C2D @1.66Ghz 1GB Ram 80GB HDD and ATI x1800 256MB graphics and xp home. I have had absolutely no problems with the components of this laptop which i take with me when i work away from home, which is every week. This laptop has played games with all high settings such as Half Life 2 episode 1. BUT, i have to say that the actual quality of the casing, keyboard and LCD screen are NOT, in my opinion, very good quality. The casing is flimsy and cheap looking (you can press lightly on the lid and it will bend and touch the back of the screen). The keyboard, mostly on the numberpad does not feel sturdy and the keyboard seems to move downwards into the laptop when pressed). The LCD screen suffers from being dark at the top and bright at the bottom and does not have good viewing angles. Maybe in hindsight i should have sent this laptop back and got a refund but i will stick with it as i cant afford a more expensive one at the moment.

Toshiba Satellite Pro P100 - 327

Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16GHz,4MB)
2048MB RAM
200GB HDD
Geforce 7600 Go 512MB
17" Wide Screen (1440x900)
Bluetooth, A,B,G Wifi, Remote

Nice & Quick but a bit heavy, runs Vista nicely

i do believe there a P100 Satellite that has 7900 Go in it but not sure of the model no.!!!
