Laptop temperature app?

My bro's laptop keeps over heating, I have used everest to check the temperature's 54c idle and anywhere up to 80+ c full load, then it turns itself off.

I have taken off bro's HSF and the thermal compound was a mess, looked like there was none on the CPU at all - replaced with some AS5 and its dropped the idle temp to 45c and full load was 70 on everest stability test.

I want to know any other apps I can use to monitor temperature as my laptops CPU temp doesn't get detected by everest and as its similar laptop I want to compare the temps.

Cheers, I tried MBM5 but couldn't get it to work, will try speedfan/core temp though.

Update on running everest stability test on bros laptop, it peaked at 95c and would drop to 84 then go back up to <95c again lol. hot hot hot!

<edit>

Speedfan is same as everest - only shows the HDD temp, and core temp says "this is not a intel core" or something, its a pentium mobile.
