Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion TX1000 lappy and am going away on holiday for two weeks which includes some 10 hour flights. I like watching DVD's etc on the flight but my laptop battery combo (I have a high capacity and a standard one) only give me about 2:30 hrs. Can anyone reccommend a good external power source like one of those mouse mat batteries that say thay can give another 6 hours? Anyone have any experience with these? Do they fit all types etc?

Thanks a lot for any advice :)

hmm yea i just checked out the mouse mat battery, the 2power, 140w which supposedly gives around 9 hours, depending on laptop power required. only thing is that was around £240 for that :o which certainly aint cheap! but then again 9 hours long... hmm sounds great.

i was thinking of trying to lower the Wattage to get a better life on my battery, but that requires a wait, as i've saw Cpu's that are coming out that are half the wattage (17W instead of 34W (which i currently run))

which should provide atleast an extra 30 mins to a hour i'd imagine on my current battery, then the next move is to SSD which would save 1-2W which seems like nothing but every little helps. so maybe if im lucky an extra hour ontop of what i get by upgrading the laptop in the future. so about 4 hours on my battery altogether instead of currently 3 hours with light web and screen brightness.
