I have just purchased a new laptop and am a little worried about the temperature it may be running at. Can anyone suggest / recomend a laptop tray or cooler. (sorry should have said this is a 15.4 inch laptop)

thanks in advance.

I use a Logitech Comfort Lapdesk. It's basically a plastic tray with a cushion underneath. It's comfortable and big enough to hold most laptops (the diagonal looks like ~17"). My Macbook grips it fairly well but it has slipped off in the past.

A while ago I looked into cooler pads. One thing to keep in mind is that some of them use fans that may actually work against your laptop's fans. It really depends where the various fans are placed and whether they're designed to push hot air out or pull cold air in.

how hot is it running?

Don't know as yet; its due in a week or so.

Its a lot more modern than my current offering, and from my experience, speed usually results in temperature. Apparently my practice of putting it on a cushion or magazine is not the done thing

I dont want to trash the machine for the sake of a £20 tray.

JB BL 68 - thanks for the fan comment, I can see the problem of oposite fan directions.

Its a clevo machine from Kobalt.

I'm not up to date with computers, but even I was able to look at the manufactuerers literature.

My last (as in my own personal machine) was bought in 1993 with a 233 processor (which my phone now out performs). Fed up bringing works laptop home, and you never really get to set it up the way you want. So, after saving the penny's, I wanted a good machine.

At 1400+, i'm Interestted to see how it performs.
