Right, my laptop battery now lasts around 20 mins from full charge unplugged, and its just unnaceptable!

are there any ways of breathing second life into them?

i heard a 24 hours freeze does wonders, but every website ive found since reading that says its a really bad idea haha.

or am i going to have to fork out for a new battery?

They say an average user will only get about 9 or 10 months reasonable life out of their laptop battery. If its a few months older than that, and you depend on decent life then I'd be looking at a new one.

And being it's lithium based it has a far lower number of charge cycles around 500 or so.
