Laptop upgrade help please. HD and OS

Hi all

I have a MSI GX720 Laptop, that I wish to upgrade to Windows 7 32bit, currently running vista home edition. I am also looking to upgrade the HD (2.5") as the one I currently have is too small and is running out of space (120GB).

I have already got the windows 7 software for it, but I am having difficulty with 2 things:

1-Not sure if my laptop supports SATA II, i know it does support SATA I. and hence cannot be sure which hard drive to get.

2- is this the correct order of things? : switch laptopf off and bat out,take out old HD, place new HD in, then place win 7 in CD and should autoload?

It doesn't matter what SATA version it is as they are all compatible

That sounds about right, you may have to change the boot priority in the bios, or you may be able to press F12 or something like that to open the boot menu to select the CD drive.

Look up the model number of the disk drive.
