Laptop upgrade M.2 SSD

Will move OS to it from a 1TB HDD. Do the speeds mean much in terms of boot times and for gaming?

Boot times should increase and so should opening and installing games. Out of the two, get the second, but have you considered a SATA ssd?

I have, but having looked online I just want to take advantage of the already open M.2 slot. It seems the only way I'd be able to get a SATA ssd in would be to remove the 1TB (+8GB Flash) HDD and I'd rather just keep that in. Installation seems easy enough too
