Laptop Upgrade Ram and CPU

What cpu upgrades could i do to the laptop my sister has? It currently has a Celeron M420 in a socket 479 mPGA package with the i945PM/GM/GT/i940GML chipset. Southbridge is 82801GHM (ICH7-M DH)

Its a Compaq/Hewlett Packard C300EA.

I know i can up the ram from 1Gb to 2Gb.

The 945's can take CoreDuo's/Core2Duo's as far as I am aware, should just need a bios update...

Bios update F.14 A adds support for the T5500, so it will support the C2D's.

Great, I just got a laptop from Rock with a T5600 in it so should i ever decide to upgrade the horses i can pop this in hers for one heck of a horsey upgrade. Or buy one on line from a rival. Bit soon to be upgrading a laptop that cost just shy of a grand. Those 300Gb sata 2.5 inch hard drives are tempting though.

that seems to be the latest one, 24.A, who knows though, it will still have the support from the previous updates.
