Laptop Upgrade

Wait... Title says laptop upgrade? You trying to replace the processor in your laptop with the linked item?

As that won't work. If however, you mean that you are going to get that chip and stick it in an old PC you own, then yes the HD4600 graphics would do WOW on low. You would need a Z97 motherboard (well a *97) motherboard for it to work.

and first make sure you motherboard even supports it in your laptop...

and that's if it's that part that's even faulty in the first place, if your changing it because of that, cpu only doesn't make a gaming laptop either, it's parts like a better hard drive and more memory that does, as well as a half descent cpu and vga chip etc

so am not going to build a pc.[/url]

XD Well, now you've cleared that up it helps! Gimmie 5 minutes! You have a budget? Or can I go crazy?

Or, as you previously had a laptop, maybe a mini-itx build would be better.

Same really, but ITX. Lower powered PSU as you cant fit another 290 in there. The XFX 290 fits btw, did it for a mate 2 weeks ago. You just need to take the drive bay out, install card, and add the bay back in.

Oh never mind, budget cuts ...

You planning on getting a GPU later down the line then?

btw the NXZT Source 340 is a smaller version of the H440. H440 is awesome, I have one, but it does have some cooling issues and really wants to be water cooled. 340 is pretty much the same cept smaller. And £30 cheaper. Also, you need some fans for that Cooler (unless its the one that comes with fans... there are a few on the site).

Ah, well your build looks good. I'd take the RAM from mine, is faster speed, as well as the MX100 SSD. You /could/ save by getting the windows 10 trial. maybe look at upping the PSU to a 750w? Gives you plenty of space to go SLI and a heavy overclock down the line.

Do consider the NXZT 340 however, only thing I don't like about my H440 is the heat and the size, its huge!

IF you do go for the H440, get some decent case fans or it will be too loud!
