Hi guys. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CR42S which I'm trying to connect by VGA to a Samsung LCD TV. The laptop recognises the TV when it is connected, but the TV does not recognise the laptop.
The TV manual says that the inputs are auto-detected when they are connected. I have tried every single setting possible in the Display Properties to try to output the signal to the TV but no luck.
Then I notice that the VGA port on the laptop doesn't have the 2 screw threads either side like a regular VGA output, like this

so I'm wondering if the cable is even plugged in far enough, because it doesn't feel that secure, but will not physically go in any further. However like I say, the laptop recognises the TV, but not vice versa...
Anyone give me any advice on this, or have a similar laptop/issue? Is there some kind of compact VGA cable I need to use for this? Many thanks in advance![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/smile.gif)
