Hey guys, I am doing my usual of messing around with things I shouldn't....
My old laptop's screen broke. So I took it off... When I rebooted the laptop the wifi was disabled. After a quick poke around I realised that the wifi antena was built into the screen assembly. There is a cable, attacked to a (very) small bit of plastic with "antenna" written on it, and a very large pice of aluminium foil attached to the back of the screen casing.
My question is, is that foil part of the antena? Or is it some sort of grounding / shielding / heat reflective thing? Can I rip the antenna out of the screen assembaly or will that ruin it entirely? Thanks!
Laptop is an Asus x555ldb for reference.
