HP Pavilion G Series laptop will no longer connect wirelessly. Icon in System Tray shows "not connected - no connections are available".
Things I've tried so far:
- Ensured wireless switch is on
- Ensured WLAN AutoConfig is running. Restarted for good measure
- Device Manager shows wireless card is installed correctly and drivers are up to date. It shows as an Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter #2
- Re-installed latest driver as well as trying all other listed wireless drivers for this laptop from manufacturers website
- Installed latest BIOS update
- Physically re-seated antennas on wireless card itself
Laptop belongs to my niece and she needs to take it back with her to London tomorrow and so I urgently need this fixed tonight. Any advice or further troubleshooting will be much appreciated.
I want to avoid restoring the whole thing to factory settings as there is quite a lot of data on the laptop which will take quite some time to backup first. Just to add, it works fine via ethernet, it's only the wirelss that's causing a problem
