Hi,

Just contemplating buying a new laptop and wondering what is the cheapest you can pay for something with a 8600M GT 256 mb (preferably DDR3). I was speccing up an XPS M1530 and that could be had for just under £590 inc vat + delivery by cutting back on ram (to 1 GB) and HDD (to 80GB). £620 gets 2GB and 160GB drive (or 120GB 7200 rpm). Not available with XP though which I would prefer, but that's not the biggest deal in the world.

I'm getting it for Direct3D developement (hence integrated video is no good) and for some light gaming (Wow etc) but for serious gaming I have a desktop.

Anything else I should be looking at that offers the 8600M GT, either from Dell or anyone else?

Thanks,
Simon.

Keep your eyes on the dell outlet?

Cheers, certainly some good deals on there. Are these all returns, and therefore greater chance of dead pixels?

returns, cancelled orders etc etc, i think you get the same warranty as if buying brand new and also I think they sell the scruffy ones on ebay under delloutlet or something
