recently reformatted my laptop and installed the basics back onto it and everything was working fine but now when i turn it on it will load up into windows but then the graphics goes all weird like lines across the screen or just goes completely blank. now ive tried to reinstall the drivers but it doesnt seem to resolve the problem. also ive noticed that it seems to get rather hot rather fast 
so i dont know whether its a virus doing something or if its hardware or a cooling problem because i was tinkering ages ago and i removed the cooler from the gfx,and cpu and the pads were in a bad state so i peeled off the remains, cleaned them up and then put some silver5 on there. it worked fine after that, coudl still play games and it actually ran a bit cooler. my housemate has been using it recently so i dont know whether hes knocked it or downloaded a virus or what because it was fine before i gave it to him. also there somethimes seems to be a noise that comes from the graphics chip so i dont know whats going on...
im gunna retry a fresh install. luckily i took out the 3 year warrenty so its still just still within it, but because i replaced the thermal meterial so they could the warrenty is void but its already been back 2 times in the past few years and they didnt notice ive openned it so should be fine.
so any ideas what it could be? im gunna ring up the manufactures later and probably rma it. although it is almost 3 years old and they stopped doing the model shortly after i bought it so would they be able to replace the graphics or what ever needs replacing, think they woudl still have spares? or woudl they have to give me a new laptop
