Laptop won't boot. Please help!

I have a strange problem with my laptop. I can't boot the laptop in anyway, even from my Windows 7 Disk. After I press the power button, I get the Acer startup screen for a few seconds, then it just goes black. I can access the BIOS but I can't boot in safe mode

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: At long last, the laptop finally decided to boot from my Windows 7 Disk, but is now just stuck on the screen after I click "Repair your computer"

Had any past issue of your windows instalation dropping dead on you?

I currently have a dell xps that does that and now the hdd refuses to play ball.

Do you know how to access the laptops pre boot programs ? I dunno if Acer have them through.

What do you mean by pre boot programs? And no, this is the first time I have ever had issues with a windows installation.

some PC venders have another hdd partiction which holds trouble shooting software, like memtest etc
