laptop wont boot with any usb devices attatched

last week i got a new Dell inspirion 15r.

windows 7 (64bit) SP1.
i3 2310 @ 2.10GHz.
4 gigs ram.

all windows updates done
latest bios and drivers ect.

If i boot the computer up with any usb device attached ie: external hard drive / logitech wireless mouse the computer wont post, it gets stuck on the dell logo bios screen.

ive tried disabling USB emulation in the BIOS.
ive moved usb boot to the last option (cant disable it fully).

what gives guys ?

Have you checked to see if you are running the latest bios.

check the bios and see if you can disable the Dell logo, you'll then be able to see where abouts POST has paused (I think ther emight be an F key to also show this but don't know what it is off the top of my head)

yup i have the latest dell bios update.
cant seem to disable the dell logo.

hmm how annoying lol.
