Hey guys.

My mates laptop isnt booting up due to his misses doing something to it. Anyway i though it was just a simple repair windows job but its not lol.

The laptop is running 32bit vista. So far ive made a repair disk and set boot priority to cd drive. I get the boot from disk and go into windows repair and restore centre. Ive searched for boot errors and found none. Tried all the restore points that were saved on there and i still cant boot.

I just get stuck at a black screen with a flashing DOS line. Even tried loading up the command prompt through the repair centre and tried format c: but it then asks for a volume label and i dont know what it is? Tried C: already.

Also tried the "label c: mydisk" prompt to rename the volume but cmd said label isnt a valid internal or external command?

Please help i feel so defeated :(:D
