Basically got a satellite M40 laptop, wouldn't charge and put a new power jack in still wont charge, then put a new battery in and is sitting at 34% but wont charge. Sometimes even switch off sometimes.

What's going on ?

Please help :(

It could be a bad contact inside the laptop that's causing the problem. Is there some form of light that tells you it's charging. Wiggle the jack and see if you can make any form of contact.

Could be the power regulator circuit on the motherboard, in which case you'd be out of luck tbh. Does the machine power off uneunexpectedly on mains?

by right voltage you mean it's showing mid to high 20's right? if it's showing 18/19v then it's broken

If it is a toshiba laptop then it will either be 15v or 19v, dont always trust a multi meter, I have had chargers in the past give out the voltage on a meter but wont bring a laptop on.
