when is the ideal time when sales are at rock bottom and you can pick up laptops dirt cheap ?

boxing day or new year ?

im looking for a 13.3 - 14.1 laptop. with discreet graphics and 802.11n

the prices ive seen so far are hovering £380-500

my budget is £300-400

just trying to grab a bargain
 
I dont think sales are ever at "rock bottom" - most places will start sales just after christmas, Dell even start just before IIRC.

This means prices are cheaper but they arent struggling to sell off stock and resorting to dirt cheap prices because they're still selling plenty.

I think to get something half decent for your budget you should look refurbished/second hand
 
yeah ive been looking at refurbished.

i guess im going to wait abit longer, cause i know i7 laptop around the corner. so they will try get rid of stock
 
Only thing to be mindful with mail order computers around xmas (Dell in particular) it can take ages for it to come through. Dad ordered a PC several years ago in late november, it didnt end up coming till well after xmas.
 
I dont think the i7 is going to be making them get rid of stock - certainly not of stock at the £400 mark. C2D, Pentium Dual Core, Celeron and Atom aren't going anywhere anytime soon
