Pretty obscure problem,
when I plug a secondary monitor into my laptop AND have it running off mains power (not battery) it flickers. Its not a hugely noticeable flickering but enough to be annoying. It also only really shows when the display is showing something dark.
When I unplug the power/mains and the laptop runs off its battery the problem goes completely.
This screen has been running of a desktop without any problems for 2-3 months.
To make things a tad more confusing - my boss has been having the same flickering. The monitors and laptops are completely different makes bought at different times and have been run off desktops for a decent length of time without problems.
I have tried playing about with different resolutions/refresh rates which has made no difference. I also tried doing different screen setups (primary/secondary/only) and its made no difference. It all seems linked into the power supply somehow - though the actual converter is sat a good meter away from the screen under the desk.
Any ideas?
EDIT: also, taking the battery out and running straight off the wall still leaves it with flickering. And moving the power supply closer/further from the monitor doesnt make a difference.
