Hi this is not for me but some one i no as im still looking for a decent Desktop PC but he wants a decent machine for writing, browsing and playing music. All music is held on external drives so storage isnt important, So all im looking for really is something that work nice and quickly, i mean really quickly.

I quite often have a good dozen tabs open on a couple of browsers as i scour the net for information on my writing subjects. I jump around like mad, and my biggest frustration is hanging browsers, as i have 50meg broadband and expect my laptop to keep up

What sort of laptop is good for this?. Thanks...

he says around £400 max as he dont need a top of range one for playing games he wants a fast one for doing work and having lots of docs open at once.

Thought about a notebook? My girlfriend has just bought one rather than a laptop and we've upgraded the ram to 2gb and it's great. Fast, great battery life and really portable.
