OK so i got stick on L plates (Mistake 1) and i put the front one on the bonnet (Mistake 2).

When it blew off the other evening it took two very small (1inch by half inch) strips off the laquer. The base coat is fine luckily.

So:

1) Don't stick L plates on the paintwork, when they blow off they'll damage it :o

2) How do i fix this? To be honest you can barely see it, but frost will surely get under it and start lifting the rest if i don't do something about it. Is it just a flat / sray / polish job?

Ya your right it will start to peel more if its left. Only thing you can do is to carefully flat down around the peeling edges with 1200+ grit wet n dry and blending compound. Needs to be done so there is no ridge between the base coat and the lacquer at all. Then ideally you should spray it first with a sealer because the paint has cured a long time ago and this helps the new lacquer stick. Now its simply a case of getting some new lacquer on there letting it cure for 2 weeks or so and blending it back in.
