Hi,

I'm getting some kitchen worktops soon to make a long desk out of (3.8 meters), I plan on having 2-4 computers on it in the future, but just trying to think of the best way to manage the cables.

I would ideally like the computer cases to be ontop of the desk rather than on the floor as it's carpeted, but that will leave all of the cable clutter on the desk and I'm not sure what to do about that.

Alternatively the cases could be on the floor and I could have a few cut out's at the back of the desk to route the cables through, and maybe tie the cables to the base of the desk.

Any ideas please?

I would run all the power cables to one place, and put them in one duct thing to separate them off. Everything else, I'd hang them at the back under the desk, putting them out of view.

You don't need to keep all the cable clutter on the top of the desk if the machines are on there. Just include cable routing holes in the desktop behind where you want the computer and where you want the cables to go to. The cables can then come out of the machine, drop down behind the desk, and then come up where you want them.

I got a new desk on saturday, so I spent some time messing about with this.

What I did in the end was Velcro a 6 way power adapter to the bottom of the table at the back. It means that if I ever need to remove it, I can get to it easy but for the time being there's little chance of it moving.
