Hi everyone,

just wondering if this would be possible;
I want to make a fairly large panel that would replace/cover the Drive bays along the right side of the NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Full Tower, from the bottom to top, i plan to remove all the drive bays and put a large radiator there instead, the panel would cover this... BUT i want the panel to be slightly thick, and hollow, so as to act as a reservoir also, could i even achieve this? with constraints in the form of pump pressure and mavity and things,

any feedback and advice is greatly appreciated,

thanks

(didnt know whether to post this in Watercooling thread or not)

I have seen examples of similar idea.

E.G 2x Acrylic panels sandwiched and cemented together. 1 of the panels having had channels routed into it that act as pathways for the coolant.

The panel would have to have holes tapped into it for fittings.

As above, but if you get them laser cut and then bolted together like a wafer (with the center panels being "hollow") you should get a pretty nice finish.

Never done it for a reservoir, but I've had it work well for other containers in the past :D

i watched it and its pretty useful thanks, im looking for dimensions of around 400~500mmx160mmx12mm (HxWxD) and at the moment no sure what materials to make it/have it made with. I want it to be metal by appearance, but also with an NZXT logo made of see-through material, perhaps an acrylic. Though I dont know what would be best, either using a metal to make the entire box and then cut out the NZXT and replace with acrylic or make it completely out of acrylic and then encase (with the logo already cut out) it with metal, or using only acrylic and then a metal paint to give it the look/feel of metal

Personally I'd make the whole thing from acrylic, and then just fix it to the inside of a metal case panel, with the panel having your logo cutout. Far simpler than combing two materials, and acrylic is an easy thing to machine.

Yeah this is probably a better idea, any advice on places to get thin workable acrylic + the metal for the panel? Never done any custom work myself
