In case anybody comes across this thread after searching for Komputerbay, my experiences with them have been awful. I purchased 8GB of DDR3 laptop memory (i.e 2 * 4GB SODIMMS) from them for £195. After returning three sets of faulty RAM to them over the course of 6 months, I finally asked for a refund. They complied by sending me £20, claiming that this was because the price of memory had gone down since my original purchase. They offered to let me return the money and have another replacement memory kit sent out. The forth and final kit they sent me was 8GB in a kit of 2 * 4GB DIMMs (not SODIMMS). After that, I gave up.

tl:dr edition; avoid Komputerbay.

Edit: I forgot to mention originally that they also go by the name of Kompbay (usually written as KOMPBAY in their correspondence). Now anybody searching for Kompbay will also find this thread :)

I'm running 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance memory on a Extreme 4 Gen 3 board without any problems.
A bit overkill, so I spilt it for a 16gb ramdisk & 16gb for system memory.

Buy decent branded memory.

Hey, thanks for the reply chap but i dont understand... how do you mean you split it ? ive only ever built general systems with 4 or 6gb ram so never had to do it... lol sorry to sound dumb ha

There's ways of using your RAM for other purposes, such as ramdisk. Its basically a super fast temporary SSD, you just cant use the ram for its usual purposes.

I was in you shoes not long ago. Went for 2 x Corsair Vengeance 32GB, no problems.

As surveyor quoted, avoid KomputerBay! Other people have had bad experiences, wrong modules, wrong speeds, mislabeled item etc..
