I've got a Pioneer 50" plasma but unfortunately 1 of the HDMI sockets has stopped working. As there are only 2 I have to swap cables every time I switch from SAT to DVD which is annoying. It's also 5 years old so maybe it's time for a new TV.

Technology has changed quite a bit during that time and I've got a short list of 3 different TVs.

Samsung PS63C7780, 63" Plasma (I think this is the PS63C7000 in the UK)

Samsung UE65C8700, 65" LED

Panasonic TX-P65VT20, 65" Plasma

Not really bothered about 3D as I think it's a fad but do want superb picture quality. Anyone care to suggest which one will be the best choice?

I think I'm going to wait for the V30. Not concerned about the extra specification, but it does look nicer.

Going back to your original post, I'm surprised you don't use some kind of AV receiver to manage your sources anyway, I mean I don't have the biggest of budgets and I can't stand watching tv through the inbuilt tv speakers, find the lack of clarity meaning I have to have it far louder than I'm comfortable with to make out what people are saying!

Another shout for Panasonic plasmas though, my trusty 46" G10 is still serving me well :)
Of course I have an AV receiver. I don't use it to switch video sources though. I connect SAT and DVD video direct to the TV.
