Large spec needed.

Hey guys!

A friend of mine is looking to spend around £2400 on his new rig! Although i've told him that paying £2400 on a new pc is stupid and damn near impossible these days, he won't take any notice. The phrase he used was "i don't care about all this "bang for buck", i want this pc to rip my face off when i turn it on. Not for me to smile and congratulate myself on how much money i've saved!"

I think he'll just be wanting the base unit. Being a gamer, his monitor and peripherals should be accounted for. So please, give me a beasty spec to forward onto him!

Any help is much appreciated.

I presume so. Think he's overclocked his FX57. I'm sure the lovely people here would help him if he needed it anyway!

Season to taste and budget with watercooling bits OcUK doesn't stock. D-Tek FuZion for the CPU, PA 120.3 as a radiator.


I wonder if money makes a sound as it circles the toilet...
 
Thanks for the help so far guys. I completely agree that £2400 is a ludicrous amount of money to spend, but hey, he saved the money and wants the best.

Great spec BillyTheImpaler. I'll show him the goods when he comes online this evening.

I'd take Billy's spec (very good imho), then substitute 2 x 64GB Samsung Solid State Drives in RAID 0 for the raptors. I'd then have a 3-10 drive RAID 5 15,000 RPM SCSI array (depending on room in the case) for high speed storage. Could use the 3-10x raptors in place of the scsi drives.

For the price of a good scsi raid controller and the scsi drives he may as well go for raptors.
