Largest harddrive put in Time Capsule?

Say I got a second hand TC could I put a 4TB harddrive in it?

Get something like that instead, unless you want to pay more for less.

You can use Time Machine with it of course.

I don't trust Seagate I bought a 1.5tb external drive which after a month started clicking and failing to read. I contacted them several times and got zero replies. Crap company with poor customer service.

You don't have to get a Seagate NAS, websites other than OcUK have more brand choice.

It's silly to pay for a Time Capsule, it's not anything special over a standard NAS. They use Hitachi Deskstar hard drives inside. (well, unless they changed it recently)

Spotted a Buffalo NAS for £60, they're a good brand.

Drives fail, it happens.

You should have just gone through the RMA process.

I have a Seagate from 2003 that still works, it's just not enough capacity to really cut it anymore. So nerrr..

I also have a Deskstar that's been failing S.M.A.R.T. tests so that's stored away somewhere. So yeah don't go thinking just because it's Apple it's prone to not failing.
