Largest Memory Config Asus Maximus MB

Just in the process of putting together a new build, want the largest memory config I can get on this MB it supports 32Gb Max but as of yet I haven't seen any kits. Reason for the large amount of memory is I do lots of VM work and like to have as many VM's running as possible. Is 16Gb the best I can acheive at present or does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

You can get 32GB (4x8GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 for around £500.

Seems a touch pricey when 16GB (4x4GB) of 1600MHz DDR3 is around £120 or 16GB (4x4GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 is around £90.

8GB DIMM's just aren't cheap.

I'm thinking of putting 1866Mhz in as opposed to 1333Mhz

That's another part of the problem.

I couldn't find any 8GB DIMM's for sale faster than 1333MHz.

I doubt you'd see a huge performance drop from 1866 to 1333.

Wouldn't you be better off getting a more enterprise-centered board with moar slots?

Personally I'd just go with 16 for now and switch out if ever cheap 8gb ddr3 becomes available.
