Anyone had it? Any reccomendations of what type of surgery and where to go?
How much does it cost? Does it cost more the worse your eyes are or doesn't work like that?

I have good eyes but a slight problem with long distance vision being slightly blurry. It's only a small issue but I want to get it fixed.

I will not wear glasses and can't decide between going for contacts or surgery and whether it would be worth the money having it done.

Any input anyone?

I used to have really bad blurry vision, but all i had to do was prise the cover off of my dvd player and stare at the light for a bit. SOrted it really well, and no expensive consultants fees.

Its just a way of printing money for those guys.

I had laser eye surgery done and it was brilliant. Could see perfect after about an hour but couldn't bear the light for until the next morning.

Just register on the net and they will phone you up for a free consultation, well at least they did for me.

i was going to have it done but the person preforming the operation had glasses so I GTFO of there

I think laser correction for long sightedness is rarer and possibly more expensive than for short sightedness.
I was -3 in both eyes (short sighted) with a slight astigmatism. They cured the lot in 15 mins, back in October of 2000. Best money i every spent.

But don't be such a girl about 'not wearing glasses'. Man it up for gods sake. Its usually people that have worn glasses/contacts for years that then decide to go for laser treatment.
How old are you? Has your eyesight been stable for the past few years? If not, then i doubt they'll perform treatment.

look for a practice that uses the latest equipment.

i read about this ages ago its all good but the newer lasers track the subtle movements of the eye better.

ill have t try and find the info i read.

edit: something to consider - from ultralase:

Why do you only offer LASIK laser eye surgery with IntraLase®?
The one part of LASIK laser eye surgery that has caused most concern has been the use of surgical blades to prepare the eye for treatment. For this reason, as well as for reasons of safety and accuracy, we have decided to dispense with blades altogether in favour of the technologically superior Intralase® method. Intralase® uses a laser to prepare the eye for treatment, which means that our entire range of LASIK laser eye procedures is totally blade-free. We are the ONLY national provider in the UK to use Intralase® as standard in LASIK laser eye surgery.

certainly appeals to me
