I've got a Logitech MX1000 Laser mouse that I love to bits. After 2 years of abuse though my desk's surface is starting wear. As a fix i'm looking to buy a new mouse mat.

Any recommendations for mouse mats for a laser mouse? I've been looking that the following two mainly but please do tell me if I should be looking elsewhere...

Icemat - Black 2nd Edition
Steelpad S&S Mouse Pad

Thanks.

I have that icemat you specify, great gaming surface once you stick on the supplied teflon feet (I got five which perfectly fit my mx510's feet), without them since the pad is made of glass there will be scratching noises.

The only issue I can find with the pad is that after extended gaming sessions, the pad can move forward, which means that my wrist rests on the edge of the pad, which has given me some small cuts there.

they stick on very well, ive had them on for 2 months, this mouse has also been on holliday with me in my rucksack and the feet havent moved.

in my icemat second edition I got five of them, I think you can buy more from icemat's website, or you can use something like padsurfers which steelpad make, which I have found on a competitors website.

the nice thing with the feet provided with the icemat though is that no cutting is needed - they are little ovular pieces that perfectly fit on the feet of my mx510.
