Picked up a second hand laser printer a while ago and the prints are faint. It's no big deal as it's mainly for printing postage labels and random things.

But I'm not sure if it's an easy fix.

Toner is low (2 bars of 10) but that would probably last me the rest of the printer life!

Any cleaning etc that might be able to be carried out?

Take out the toner cartridge and shake it about.

Paper makes a difference too, esp with lasers. Thicker paper like envelopes doesn’t get as hot so the toner doesn’t bind and melt as well.

I've given it a shake.. Doesn't look much different. Probably just have to live with it

I should add, it's consistently faint. Like uniform. All text is legible.

Could be the corona wire needs a couple of swipes if possible and also the roller on the toner might be less effective than it should be, Brother printers are about the only brand that Id use compatibles in these days and for that model, less than £20 on Amazon, could prove it out.

shaking the toner doesnt do anything
try cleaning laser path ie glass on laser unit or the led strip
some printers now use leds
could be charge on drum unit (corona wires) but usually drum unit needs changing before this happens
unless it has been in really dusty enviroment
