Hi all,

Is this the right forum for printer queries?

Anyway...

Does anyone have a recommendation of a cheap laser (mono) printer, that's ridiculously cheap to use (compatible toners), that would suit me (a poor, poor student)?

No special features needed (wifi, ethernet), other than the ability to print lots of mono A4 text

Thanks!

One you could refill the toner cartridges yourself would be my recommendation. I bought a Samsung ML-something 2 years ago and instead of dropping £60 every 1500-2000 prints I spend £15 on a toner bottle and am still using the starter cartridge some 4 refills later.

I've not kept up with latest models so can't advise which allow refilling .

What I did was check the ones on sale for a price I was happy with (£60) and then searched the toner refill sites to see if they has kits available.

Sadly the one I have has been replaced as was EOL when I got it from Argos.

Most printers need special chips on the cartridges these days but mine just needs a wire shorted every 18 months or so to reset the counters.
