I have got my spare pc set up quite nicely now.

Ive got the fans on a controller, ordered a new psu which i know will be quieter.

I have got one last noise which is the cpu fan.

got a 2.4 core 2 due with the standard cpu cooler. Silver heat sink and fan.

This is quite noisy. What could i do to reduce the noise of this?

Could i control the fan speed somehow, or get something else

Any info u need, please ask :)

Buy something like an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 and get it plugged into the fan controller, then overclock the nuts out of that core 2. I'm guessing an E6600?

Yes it's a E6600 don't wanna oc. Don't game. So I could control the speed of the fan on it. I got some temp monitors software. What's a good safe core temp then so don't lower it too much and fry it lol

Well when my fan was at 1800 rpm 100% it's about 32c each core. 80% fan load at about 1400 rpm it's about 39 over the two cores. :)

thanks for the reply
