Pay day in 6 days and I will have £450 to upgrade with.

I have my i5 2500k arriving today (I gave up with AMD) My Ram is sorted, so it's a matter of a mobo, gfx card and an SSD. I didn't really want to buy an SSD, but when it takes my PC around 5 mins from boot to being able to use it, plus programs are a tad slow (Should point out my OS is installed on a Cavier Green HDD, which is slow)

I might get the Asus Gen 3 board but I've found it elsewhere for £20 less. The pc needs to last at least a year, probably Xfire or SLI after new year.

Why? Is Gen3 just a marketing thing like Sata3? Also is the M4 better then the ocz ssd? And does it require the same as a normal sata drive or a sata controller??

gen 3 is like sata 3, it is the new specification which SOME things can use, not all of them need that bandwidth

m4 is a lot more stable than ocz ssd, a lot less error reports

same as a normal sata drive

OK, to be honest, can someone spec a non gigabyte mobo the one I have no (ordered 4 days ago) has completely put me off them

Sweet, I must admit the M4 speeds did seem slower then other SSD's but if the fireware has sorted that then great. Could someone suggest a mobo that isn't Gigabyte, I bought my current mobo a few days ago and it's given me nothing but hassle. Hence why I'm given up and gone Intel
