Hey guys,

Last check before placing the order, is everything OK? Are there any components that could be swapped for better at same price etc?

Many thanks in advance!

Is that all you have to spend?

For gaming I'd recommend at least a 3850pro. If you don't have enough for a decent graphics I'd look into the graphics sales section for a 1950pro £35 to tie you over or the 2900GT for the same price as that 8600GT but a lot faster!

And for the price of that monitor I'd get this 22" one

Also the OCZ 2Gb PC6400 4-4-4-15 is on sale atm for £29 delivered which is cheaper than the slower Geil one you specced.

Cheers, swapped the RAM and GPU for ones suggested. That monitor looks good but only has contrast ratio of 800:1, whereas LG 20" one has a ratio of 3000:1. Doesn't this mean the LG is better quality and will have a better picture?

Cheers -its really appreciated!

Personally I'd prefer size over insanely high contrast but then I have not actually owned a monitor with contrast higher than 800:1 so can't really comment. I moved from a 450:1 over to 800:1 and I think it's plenty enough for normal non-profession use.

That's where we differ steve. Qualty over size any day. Frankly DVI is a must have now-er days. The one you linked looks a bit pap.

I'd agree that a better GFX card is required really.

dgowenlock are you planning on using this primarily for CAD work? If so, then don't expect a gaming graphics card to do the job. It won't. There are specialist cards. The Nvidia Quadro or the Ati FireGL. But, you pay a premium and OcUK don't sell them either.

Hope this helps.
