last command and conquer before the aliens??

Really want to play command and conquer again loved red alert havent played it for years though just been around my mates and he was playing one with aliens on i had a quick go and hated it. So anyone know what the last command and conquer is that is similar to red alert.
 
dark reign was a great game. Its does have aliens but its still a brilliant game like c&c

Me and a few of my old friends used to spend hours playing c&c, even making our own maps :-)

Give it a go, you will like it
 
I played RA2 more than any other game and with a few expantions, like Yuri's Revenge, and an old mod called 'Tech Demo', its superb fun.

RA3 tried too hard and its not as good as the previous.

I would however, recommend generals. Its a fantastic game which will consume hours of your time. It's a shame they cancelled Generals 2, but the first is worth it.

The alternatives are Wargame: European Escalation, Company of Heroes I & II.

Even though they had aliens, the best C&C games imo are Tiberium Wars & Kane's Wrath, though Generals and the original Red Alert are brilliant, but very dated.
 
Hah you realise c&c 4 is abysmal right? I bought it at a similar price just to see what it was like and I played it just once.
