Hi,
I'm looking to build a new system in the next few weeks, but i'm worried as it absolutely must have winXP installed (probably as a dual boot with vista) for various reasons, most of which revolve around my work.
From what i've read MS are effectively stopping sales of XP from the end of this month, although have relented for some specific uses ( low cost PC's)
What i'm unsure of is does that mean MS will only stop sales of winXP (OEM to be specific) at the end of the month. That within a month or two availablitly will drop to zero.
I'm worried that should i buy winXP oem from OcUK this week, that come late July when i build my system, MS will have put in place some draconian system where by it can't be registered or used?
I know that just sounds silly, especially once i'd written it, but really want to be sure. Originally i'd planned on building the system before the end of the month, but with recent developments on the gpu front, it looks like i'll be better of waiting a week or two longer.
So in summery, just want to make sure that if i buy winXP home oem this week, there is nothing preventing me from installing, registering and using it from next month?
