Evening guys

I posted a while back asking for a bit of advice so I could embark on my first PC build (to be used mainly gaming) - Old Thread

After everyones help (much appreciated!), I've decided to go with a slighty modified version of Doomedspeed's build

Original:

Modified - Changes highlighted in Red:

Now you've seen my slight changes, please feel free to ridicule if they don't make sense, or even work!

The obvious omission is the GPU. I'm currently undecided because the price of the MSI recommended by Doomedspeed has increased. I'm looking at the 3 below:

GPU's
MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £259.99
Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £259.99
Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X Rev2.0 WindForce 3X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £259.99

Is there a better GPU for a similar price?
Is there any real difference, or are they basically the same?

Finally, I'm going to need a monitor and think I've settled on

Monitor
BenQ RL2455HM 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red £149.99

Can anyone recommend a better one for a similar price?

I think that covers it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The Gigabyte card has a higher core speed than the others so should be a nats whisker faster.

Terrible reporting. The Bioshock Infinite benchmark has the 280X doing 30 min/112 avg and the 770, 22 min/118 avg. That looks to me like the 280X is the better options as it doesn't drop below 30 fps, but without something more advanced like a 99th percentile frame time chart we've got no idea if the 770 was frequently dropping that low, or if it just dipped to 22 momentarily.

In any case, the 770 in that review has lower minimum frame rates than the 280X, so I'd say get the 280X.

OK. Thanks guys!

I've just noticed that the PSU recommended is only available for pre-order. I was just planning on getting a different 550W replacement, but watched a video saying the Gigabyte R9 280X needs a 600W PSU.

Is there a full proof way of working out what wattage you need to run?
