Last Levels and Game Endings

Dragon Age: Origins had an epic ending and the last boss fight on Nightmare was rather tough.

One game I did love until the absolute shambles of an ending was Dead Space 1. What on earth were they thinking, everything about that last level was just utter, utter ****.
 
hmm yeah i just finshed the original resident evil again, pretty anti climatic, easy final boss, followed by 5 second fmv and that's supposedly the "ultimate ending" as opposed to the bad ending.cant remember the last game i played that had a good ending, finished tomb raider reboot, don't think that had a great ending either as i cant rememer it. oh yeah gta ivs lead up and ending was pretty awesome i think!.. and everyone complained about the witcher 2 ending but i dont think that was that bad

It all depends on the game and the story. Your right that some games certainly do end far too abruptly and too easily. But there are plenty of games that have really satisfying endings. Like the Legend of Zelda games for example :)

I'm pretty sure it's largely just down to the music and the fact it lasts more than 20 seconds. Basically you get a happy song, kinda like the singing of we are the champions at the end of the mighty ducks. :P
