i got a interview for bestbuy geek squad tomorrow and i gone over some networking trouble shooting stuff but i was hoping you may post a few common faults here and fixes so i can check through em making sure i know how to do em all.

thanks.

1 question, when you have bsod and cause is faulty ram, will memtest pick up errors immediately or will you have to wait hours?

im just saying if the cause of it is faulty ram, will i be able to confirm it is using memtest immediately without leaving it to run over night or is the only way to confirm it is to swapp out the ram with functioning ones.

anywayz...... i passed it took me 9:30am - 5pm but im in the next stage :D.

If it's definitely faulty, it should pick up an error pretty quickly.

If the RAM is just slightly unstable, i.e. probably not causing constant crashes or BSODs, then it could take a couple of hours. If it does take a long time to pick up an error, bumping up the voltage or loosening timings can often solve problems.
