Very nice spec, although I probably would go for the 640mb GTS.

Just from personal experience after owning both cards.

I'v got the 19" Viewsonic VP930.

I'v read the extra 320mb probably won't make much difference at the resolutions I will be using.

Also I don't want to spend too much on the graphics card as I will be upgrading to the 9800's in a year or two.

My appologies, should work now, incase it dosnt this
it dosnt look like loads, but its great value and you'll feel the new graphics cards are even better when you get them ;)
Not to mention itl play most games at pretty high settings.

I only have a 19" monitor and I plan on upgrading to the 9800 GTX in a year or two.

Regarding the ram I should be able to see 3.5GB on XP right?

Dosent matter if you only have a 19inch screen, it only means you will be able to play games on full settings much longer.

Your see about 3.2GB of memory.

generally around 3gb-3.5gb on xp, but it dosn't utilise it as well as vista 64 would.

If its a year or 2 your right, a gts would be better, was thinking it was months.

Was thinking of getting Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM.

Yeh, youd probably do well upgrading to it, just check all the programs you use are compatible, only takes 1 key program to ruin an OS for you.

If I go for Vista I will probably dual boot xp if I have any problems.
