Anyone else left it really late for Christmas uni work? I've bloody done it again.

2000 word essay for 11am tomorrow.

Its not hard to do just hard to get started.

I'm such a pleb :(

Yeah I have loads of work too. It's alright I have a whole week to do one of them and a whole two weeks to do the rest when I get back.

Aye the same, I have to program a game by thursday, and I dont even know how to begin, or how to create a 8 x 7 grid in simple non object orientated programing, to be honest im waiting so I can ask the teachers when I get back how the... hell I do it because I can only just remember how to program "HelloWorld". Then I have to create a game in gamemaker for a week on tuseday, so By the time I finish my programing I will have 3 days to make a full game, and I have 2 exams this week which I will have no time to revise for.... So Thanks to leaving it to late im most likely gonna fail 4 course works in one fowl swoop...... So If anyone knows how to program a grid in java... ;)

Once you get started it is easy to get it done. 2000 words is puny.

Best way of starting is to properly plan your essay so you know exactly what to write. Of course this advice is useless if you followed previous advice and temporarily made yourself OcUK-Celebate :p

I once did a paragraph that was 1000 words in an essay. :p (The teacher said to change it).

2000 words isn't too bad, I've done several 6000 word, and 5000 word essays for English Literature GCSE coursework. It will take you all of about 3 hours if you work at it, and don't come on OcUK, or the internet at all. :p

Get on with it!

Now see I would disagree with this, GCSE I could easily do in a few hours, A-Level, now that requires more research and more in depth writing, I would use to write about 10,000 words and it would take me about 2 x 8 hour days. Now uni is a whole different kettle of fish, sure you only write 2000 words max but the amount of research you have to do takes hours..... especialy when everyone else has the same books out as you need :o

2000 words is easy. Just write the headings down first, then go back over and add the content. Just wait until you get to your final year project. :)

I see by your post count that you are 5 posts away from becoming a Wise guy and gaining a new avatar. You should definitely spend more time on OcUK this evening to try and get this, rather than doing your unimportant essay.

I had 5 weeks to do a report due in tomorrow. I started it Friday, finished it yesterday and added a few bits today. ~5000 words so pretty easy, but disappointed I waited nearly 5 weeks after I did the lab to actually write it up.
I was lucky to get 5 weeks though, it was because we are allotted two working weeks for certain reports and it just so happened the last working day was the first Monday after we broke up, so got the holiday period to do it. Awesome! Usually. However, 5 weeks means you forget a significant amount of information, but I reckon I did ok ;)

2000, thats not too bad. Just finished yet another 10,000+ word assignment due in tomorrow :p , good luck!

there is some advantage to leaving to the last minute--some peple do work better under pressure, i think i do, but when im under pressure it normally means its late at night, which means im not working to full potential, which means although my work rate is better, the actual work isnt :p

2000 words, 2500 frames to go for an animation. Oh and a powerpoint presentation outlining the entire animation process... And I have slept maybe 6 hours in the last 3 days.

Being a jerk and leaving everything till the last minute is loose. Especially in final year.
