Hi all,

I've been pretty active over the last few weeks on overclockers and upgraded my PSU & GPU which I am really happy with. The PSU has made my pc super quiet and the GPU has added a noticeable improvement to the graphics. I have a good sum of dosh left and wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to what I can add to the system to make it better.

System Build

PSU: Corsair RM750
Motherboard: GA Z77 DSH
CPU: i5 3570k
GPU: R9 290 Vapor-X oc
Memory: Corsiar Vengence 8GB Ram 1600mhz
Case: Phantom 410
OS: Windows 8.1 64Bit
SSD: Samsung Evo 250gb SSD
HDD: 2tb Seagate 7200rpm HDD

I was considering a water cooler for the cpu but since I have added the PSU I love the fact I almost don't even realise the pc's on even when I am running the PC under load.

Any Idea's?

I would go for a hydro cooler/AIO cooler...

Simple to install... get a 120mm radiator version like the corsair h60 or cooler master seidon 120m

I wouldnt bother if you're happy with it... Maybe if the CPU isnt overclocked grab a new cooler like you suggested and give it a tickle... I love that GPU btw had My eye one a pair of them for ages now but have managed to restrain myself until tomorrow :)

Lol I can see from your addy your might be a bit impulsive let me see if I can help you with that don't get this card it's rubbish :D:D nah can't do it it's the dogs:)

I agree with the OC of the CPU, generally gets some good gains. For the budget end I recommend something like the Raijintek Themis, higher up possibly an AIO such as the H100i or H105 if your case allows (I think the H100i will fit ok, the H105 with some more fettling with a quick google search)

lol it's IMPLOSIVE like the opposite of explosive. But you're not the first to make that mistake :p

but that aside I want that card dammit; Not only does it have blue highlights (which goes with my build) it's a beast and quiet as hell by all accounts!

Nvidia needs to get sapphire onboard somehow, there needs to be more sexy blue cards!

Also are you on the intel stock cooler, or aftermarket?

Intel stock I'm afraid, I was looking at the notua fan or an water cooler, problem with the water cooler is that they seem quite noisy when they are under load though I admit its difficult to know watching you tube videos.

See the problem is since putting the RM750 PSU in the pc is near silent and I kinda like it like that, I even realised the r9 290 is probably one of the quietest cards I ever owned. So I don't want to upset that apple cart.

That sais I got a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION yesterday and a BSOD analyst has suggested it might be a CPU problem which is not good considering the CPU is just 8 months old and has never been overclocked.

If I was to change the CPU which I might, would you change the motherboard to a 1150(haswell) and get an i7, I thought if the CPU is faulty and gets replaced I could sell the i5 and maybe lga1150 socket might see ddr4 at some point. Win Win.
